Polyvinylidene
Flouride is a thermoplastic construction material and
has all the typical characteristics of thermoplastics
such as extrudability, weldability, thermoformability.
As a flouroplastic, PVDF is characterized in particular
by an extraordinary chemical resistance and as such may
be used over a wide temperature range.
Compared to other flouroplastics, PVDF offers many advantages
in various applications, especially its easy processability,
its high mechanical characteristics, its low specific
gravity, thus cost saving. PVDF also has excellent weather
resistance, good resistance to radiation, particularly

ECTFE |
Ethyl-chloro-triflouro-ethylene
is a partially crystalline copolymer thermoplastic. ECTFE
is chiefly used in chemical containment and equipment,
where high corrosion resistance is a priority. Lining
of steel tanks and composite construction in conjunction
with GRP is one of its main applications.
ECTFE as opposed to PVDF has good chemical resistance
in the alkaline range above a PH of 10. High flexibility,
high resistance against stress cracking, very low permeation
rate and excellent weather resistance characterize this
material. Particularly for use in container and apparatus
building.
